TCC Demensional Analysis

U.S.A. Texas

]Ok, I'm getting demensional analysis down quite well, if I do say so myself... However, if I'm understanding correctly, Med. Symbols and Abbreviations are also on the foundations med. math test. Does anyone know if this is true, and if so where can I get some study material for the symbols (perferably online?) I also wanted to ask if conversion charts and calculators are allowed to be used on the test? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated...:uhoh3:

Med symbols and abbreviations (other than ml, mg, mcg, g, lb., etc) are not on the TCC math tests. It is great that you are getting the dimensional analysis down pat, though. You will be so glad that you did. You will not be able to use a conversion chart on the tests. They will tell you which conversions you need to know. They have the rules you need to follow and the conversions in the student handbook - There aren't as many conversions to memorize as there are in some of the books. maybe 10 or so; I can't remember the exact number. You will be able to use a calculator on the tests. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the rules once you get your student handbook. You will go over it at the beginning of the semester as well. Anyway, good luck!

Where can you take a demensional anaylsis class? Haven't seen a listing for one. thanks

From my understanding, you take it with your clinical. The CID for 2008 is already out, download it, and review the info, and there you will see all the rules just as Heloisea has stated with some questions to try your hands on. :-)

One of your required textbooks will be a dimensional analysis book. You will be required to work through this book on your own during the first few weeks of school. If you need help, your instructors will help you and clarify things for you. You will have to pass the math test before beginning the clinicals at the hospital. For the first few weeks of school, your clinical group will meet on campus. During that time, your instructor will go over the dimensional analysis, and you will finish working through your dimensional analysis book. A few of the professors will also have a lot of practice problems for you to work through. It will come together, and you will do fine. Believe me, if I can pass dimensional analysis, anybody can. I am horrible at math. So, don't worry too much about it. Enjoy your holiday as much as you can before school starts. Spend your time resting, relaxing, and enjoying your family. :Santa3:

Thanks for clarifying this info, I guess I was half asleep on campus success. :-).I agree with you, dimensional analysis is not as scary as it sounds except when you have all the IV questions that requires thinking. Thanks Heloise this info benefited me too.

Has anyone been able to register for nursing classes? Everytime I try I get an error saying petition required blah, blah, blah... I guess all the drug screenings haven't come back yet or something. However I do see that some of the seats are taken... I don't get it.

Actually yes, I just did. Call Bev tomorrow if you are still unable to register.

Will do. Thanks.
