Spring 2013 El Centro College ADN

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering were there any others who were applying for Spring 2013. I was in nursing school many moons ago (2003 el centro), and have decided to take care of unfinished business. I'm super excited about the new points system. I actually hope to attend Northlake--we live in Coppell. I'll be taking HPRS 1204 this summer there as well. Is anyone else petitioning the five year limit on their science courses? I Have all the Science courses complete except HPRS so I'm petitioning since I majored in Biology (UTA). I'm also hoping they will take my Calculus I in lieu of college algerbra. Lots to do! Prayerful that God shows favor on us all!

Hey Thomas I will! Why not? I think I'll be ok where did you take your stats? Also where are you taking HPRS? I'll be taking it at north lake in July!

I took stat at Mountain View college and HPRS at ECC.

Wow! That's great Thomas! How many times did you take the HESI? Do you recommend finishing A&P 2 before taking the HESI? I'm not taking A&P 2 until July.

I took 3 times (82-87-100). The hesi covers AP 2 so it's good to take it before taking the test. I think you have plenty of time (deadline is Sep roght?). Make sure to register the test at ECC early becuase the seats fill up super fast.

You can take your Hesi at the south Irving campus as well. They are more lax there, allowing students to take all the time they want and have their restroom breaks. Well that was what they were doing last year.

Hmmmm great information guys! I'm so excited! I got information that chiroractic assistant counts toward healthcare experience so I may just receive the five year waver. That would mean all I need is hprs! Still praying it workks out!

Hey MorganB...at the info session last month I thought I heard them say that they are not using health care experience anymore....call the and make sure though!

no they aren't using it anymore, I wanted to know if it CA or MA were accepted healthcare positions so that I could receive the 5 year course waiver for having current experience and not have to retake science coursework

Hi MorganB,

Could you tell me about the A&P review you are talking about? I am currently taking A&P 1 during maymester. The class is so fast that I feel like I only remember it for the test and then when I get home I immediately let it go because I have to start studying for the next test which is within 1-3 days so any review would really help me!

I am also applying for Spring 2013. I am hoping for North Lake, but I did say that I would take El centro as a second choice.

Thank you!

Hey laina if you look under continuing education there are hesi review courses. they are for ap, reading, math and whatever else we are tested on. I'm not sure if they are helpful or not, perhaps someone who has taken them will chime in, but hey they couldn't hurt. It seems like the ap portion comes from the second half of ap. I am planning to do ap as well as the math. Hope that helped! :-)

Hi Morgan,

I'm applying for the Spring 13 program as well. Good luck to everyone!! HPRS was easy and a nice introductory course. I took over several courses trying to get an A when everything was based solely on prereq's. I know there are many people disappointed by the change in procedure, but I for one am happy and excited about it. I've got everything but writing and micro. I'm scheduled for the Hesi on June 30 and need to do my Hep B vaccines.

Have you done all your vaccines?

Cheers
