Hello everyone! I just wanted to pass along some information that I was told by a UT staff member (I called them yesterday to reinstate my application). Next year, one will have to take a NET exam in order to be considered for the BSN program. Just thought I'd let everyone know.....take care.

I bet you guys are getting very excited (josh & ree-nee and others)! Good luck and hang tough.

yeah actually we have to take the NET when we go for orientation on Aug. 28th. And "excited" is hardly the word...whats the word for the tickly, nauseating, jumpy, scary feeling that makes me nearly barf everytime I focus on the fact that EVERYTHING is about to change?? :)....

:barf01:

How are u Kim?..How is the HCC thing going?

i am SO feeling the same thing. every day when i get home from work i sit and stare at my HUGE tower of books and feel like running out of the house screaming! it's going to be such a huge adjustment. i guess the net is still better than what they're doing down at utmb with the cna req.

how was pharm kim? i'm scared!

I took the NET exam as a pre-entrance into Concorde's VN program. It isn't very hard (granted if it is the same one I took) and I have the study guide if anyone wants to borrow it. Tip: Speed and accuracy are everything on this test .The book cost me $30.00.

Hey guys! Nice to hear from you. Don't worry about the NET. It is suppose to be very similar to the HESI Entrance Exam and I breezed right through it. It seems to me that they've already accepted you into the program; therefore, you should not have much to worry about.

I'm finishing up pharmacology and am doing well, hanging tough with a strong B and ready for it to be over. I'm usually a stickler for A's, but since we've lost about 1/2 the class - I'm not gonna whine about it! :lol2: HCC starts orientation around the 21st so between the 10th and the 21st I should hear something. I know its cutting it close; however, HCC is also notorious for notifying of acceptance at the very last minute. Wish me luck and I'll let you know what happens!

Enjoy the rest of your summer.

I've been looking into UT Houston. How competitive is it? What kind of GPA does it take to get in? The website says we only need 8 hours of sciences to apply, but what are my chances if I only have the 8 hours? Thanks for any information!

Thanks for the link! I saw that one, but wasn't sure who made it past the interviews. Basically, it looks like a 4.0 on the sciences is important! Sadly, at best I will be one science short and have everything else. It is a major bummer that that delays me for a year!

I had a question about the NET exam. Does UT offer it at their campus to take it or do I have to find somewhere to take it at? I saw it on the website that it is now required, but can't find any information on where/how to actually take the exam! Any info appreciated! Thanks!
