Finally!! Parkland contacted

U.S.A. Texas

:) I have been applying to Parkland as a new grad since I received my license in June. Today I received a questionarre from them!!! and email says to expect contact by end of the week!! So happy! I also have my pending opportunity in West Tx. though with very excellent pay-it is in corrections. But I will not let Parkland pass me by, I will do what I can to be a Parkland nurse:nurse::redbeathe:nurse:

That is awesome!! I went into nursing school hoping to work at Parkland when I graduate. Good luck to you! What position did you apply for?

Congratulations! What an exciting time! If you are interested in Er or Trauma have you considered JPS or Baylor? Parkland nurses are going through a rough time right now and I would be concerned that a new grad wouldn't be able to get the support and attention that is so important the first year. Parkland is in jeopardy of losing their federal funding, the government has had to come in and oversee management. There isn't much stability with nursing staff there right now. Best of luck to you whatever you decide to do!

Congratulations!! I received the same email but have not yet heard back from them. Have you?

Congratulations! I just received an email today to schedule an interview for the ER internship at Parkland! I applied the first week in October so I had thought it wasn't going to happen but it looks like I still have a chance.

Me too! I am so relieved, nervous, and excited! The calendar had 62 15-minute slots on it. I wonder how many positions they plan to fill?

Specializes in Critical Care.

This is so true. I had my heart set on Parkland when I first started nursing school but after the investigation and government take over I turned down the interview for the GN job. This is really sad for the residents that benefit from their services. A lot of nurses license is in jeopardy because of the issues. Not a place to start your career at this point. If you want level 1 trauma try BUMC or JPS.

I was contacted to interview for L and D! I will interview on Tues. 1/1/11

Congratulations! I truly hope you get the position! My ER interview is already next week!

Specializes in Critical Care; Cardiac; Professional Development.

I was contacted to interview for the ER residency a couple of days ago. I have already accepted a position elsewhere and likely will cancel my interview, but dang...why do they wait so long to contact candidates? I would have liked to give this serious consideration.

I also have an interview on TUES 11/1 for L&D! This is the only feedback I've gotten since I started applying over 2 months ago. Does anyone know how many interviewers are on their panel and how long is the interview? Good luck everyone!

Did you go to the interview? If so, how was it?
