Anyone applying for Lone Star Jan 2016 ADN??

U.S.A. Texas

Hey i'm applying for the ADN program for Lone Star Cy-fair as my first choice and Kingwood as my second choice. Was just wondering for those who looking to start in January 2016 how is your progress going so far? i know the deadline for the application is Sept of 2015 and i'm thinking about taking the HESI in March. Majority of my prerequisites are completed i just have Micro, Engl 1302, Humanities Course, and KINE activity left. This whole process i've been so nursing and i know communicating with others who's going through exactly what i'm going through would help :-) Good Luck to you all!!

hey girl! Im applying this summer for the ADN program in Jan 2016 also! have you taken your HESI yet?

I just took my HESI and have been back and forth trying to figure out what the better score is for acceptance. Their new scoring system has me all messed up. On their old scoring sheet, I had a 3, 4, and 3.28 so 10.28 out of 12 which was a good score! Now I'm ranking a 3 and 3.28 leaving me with a 6.28 out of 8 which I'm not feeling comfortable with. I'd love to get into Cyfair but I know they're harder to get into.

The only PREREQ I have left for the ADN and BSN is Micro, I've literally taken everything under the sun needed in order to have my ADN and BSN finished in 2 1/2 years.

hi ashley! can you please give me some insight on the HESI please? Im taking it tuesday and I'm freaking out! what and how did you study? 3.28 is an 82 so thats not bad at all! do you plan on retaking it? The new scoring isn't so bad ... but if you have any Bs in either A&P or English then it'll make a big difference! I'm aiming to get at least a 7.0 out of 8 .... :shy: lol but it seems impossible. I have an A in A&P 1 and an A in English. so that gives me a 4. I just need to take my HESI now. I'm so glad someone is responding to this post because I was feeling lonely! LOL

Oh yeah, I took medical micro with professor Alan Collins this past semester and he wasn't that difficult. I made an A if that helps!

The Hesi is not bad, if anything it seems way too easy which in turn makes you rush. Think 8th grade math and 8th grade reading. I did better than AP than reading comprehension because it was just so random what they were asking. But hey, you've already taken it right? How'd you do? And I have 2 B's, my English is from 2009 when I was first dabbling in college and didn't take it seriously and AP I have a B as well. Shame they won't look at my 1302 or sophomore English both of which are A's. Lol! I wish some people would get on here and talk so I have an estimate of how many people are applying they usually do every application period. It seems as thought not many apply for Spring as they do for Fall which is crazy cause we have a longer preparatory period. Anyway, hope to hear back! Sorry took so long to reply, I've been crazy nesting since I hit 28 weeks pregnant lol!

hi there! yeah, i made an 85% overall. i was just so worried about actually passing every single section. I think i might have rushed it a little bit ... i wished i would have score at least 90%. I have an A in English as well as A&P. I retook A&P this past spring semester because i previously had a B. I don't know if I should retake my hesi though .. everyone who secured a spot in the previous has at least a 95% out of their score. I believe I have a 92.5% which is 7.4 out of 8. I wished there was more people interacting like us too so I can get a feel for the people applying and see where I stand!!! and congratulations! I have a 10 month old baby so I understand. (:

Im taking the HESI also

You're fine! I'm a whole point under you lol. If I retake the Hesi I have to get 100 to even get a 7. I'm debating on whether or not to even hurry and do a minimester of English before application is due. I just don't know if it's feasible for me right now. I'm just so worried that I WON'T get in. But I'm still not seeing much activity on here at all and last spring application period it was already booming from May to October. I know they accept 50 at cyfair and splits it 50/50 for day and night. No idea about kingwood. I just want a spot :( I was working towards my prereqs for a year and half before they switched the application scoring.

you should try to get an A in English! thats just my opinion because that seems more achievable opposed to the HESI .... I know right? Not seeing a lot of activity is making me extremely nervous ... maybe everyone is just super confident in their scores ... idk. I'm thinking of going to the information session on the 9th. Wanna go? lol.

do you know where i can get cheap hepatitis shots at?

Hey girlys im applying to HCC Coleman and Lonestar Kingwood aswell. Im just worried i wont pass my hesi. I havent taken any A&P Classes. I will be taking that class as a mini from july 12 to august 16. Any help on what i can review for the AP Section. What kind of questions do they ask...

I decided to retake English in a minimester online. I've gotten an A in every other English class so hopefully I do the same in this one -.-
