The deadline is the last Friday in March. From now on I going to open my options because I am now aware competition is pretty fierce for jobs; for some reason I just assumed a job was going to just appear and float down in my hand like a feather, how naive. BTW I graduate this upcoming May. I am starting to get pretty freaked out about jobs now. And, have you all heard anything about Scott & White? Seton was my first choice, but I'm just making more room.

Yes, I live near Temple...

When did you turn in your application, celyse?

Pretty much right after the application opened (I think March 5th, specifically). I also mailed in my packet right away and put a tracking number on it to make sure it got there....I was a little paranoid, haha. I emailed them to confirm that they received it, and they responded that they had, but that's the last I've heard from them!

I applied on the 26th and overnighted my packet the same day. I also tracked mine and e-mailed to make sure they got it, but I never heard back from them. I saw under "application tips" on the Scott and White website that they have "status code explanations." My status code is still "applied" so I guess they haven't processed me yet. Anyway, crossing my fingers too.:)

I need to find that "status code explanation" thing...mine has said "050 -Route" or something like that for a couple weeks and I have no idea what it means haha. Best of luck masmith (and everyone)! :) Keep us updated if you hear something...I don't know about everyone else, but I HATE this waiting game.

That means your application was sent on to the hiring manager for consideration. You should be getting an interview call or e-mail soon!! Congrats!!

Ahhh YAY! I really hope I do hear something soon!! Hopefully your status will change to "Route" soon, too! I bet they are just really busy processing all the applications they've received.

ICU does round robin interviews and ED is starting the interview process. Currently there are about 30 ICU interns that were hired in January and 10 ED interns.

Specializes in Adult ICU.

I would fly into in Bergstrom Austin airport not Dallas.

I live 15 min north of downtown austin and it takes me about 40 mintues to get to temple hospital so you should be able to get to temple in an hour from bergstrom depending on what time you leave.

FYI Austin traffic is VERY congested. I would try not to drive between 7a-9a and 4p-7p when traffic is heavy in downtown.

I applied to ICU. From what the recruiter told me ICU was the first unit to get going on interviews because they wanted to get it out of the way. She said she had scanned 50 apps and still has 30 more to scan still for ICU. I would think the other units will start doing interview scheduling in 1-2 weeks.

The ICU is drop dead gorgeous. The hospital was the most beautiful hospital I have seen. They have a 70 bed ICU. Staff seemed very happy there. They are trying to get travelers out. The children's hospital I believe was needing nurses.

Temple is not a hustle bustle city but the cost of living is very low and its close enough to Austin to do things there. I have gotten tired of Austin traffic a little. I really want this ICU job. Hopefully I get it..........

Also my friend told me its the managers not the director doing the hiring. She said they were about 10 people in group interview and met with director first and he gave over view of program. Then you are escorted by a staff nurse to the managers table and have 1:1 with each one about 15 minutes. There are 2 MICU, 1 STICU and 1 CTICU. The ICU is all of 2nd floor and is literally a hug rectangle shape Like an I with north and south towers. You can walk from one ICU over to the other by crossing the middle part of the ICU.

The educator may or may not be there but that is the person you will spend the most time with.

ah. no one applying for ED? and ED only takes about 10? well, that's frightening. im applying to ED. i mailed my application 2/26 and saw that my status was in "route" yesterday. i hope i get an interview - i really want this experience. and the other position i applied for was med-surg (that status is still "applied"). Good luck to all of you! keep us updated.

I applied to ER and NICU. And it still says applied not routed. I turned my packet on Friday. Hopefully I still have a chance.

Xandarosa, it may take them a few more days...I appled on 3/26, and my status changed to "route" just yesterday, 4/4...
