Texas BON declaratory order

Published

Hi guys! I am desperately seeking some help and answers. I am currently a 32 year old pre nursing student at the Alamo Colleges. I have one semester left before I can apply to a nursing program.

I have one glitch on my background check from 6 years ago. I went to the lake with my boyfriend at the time. We thought we were alone so we went skinny dipping which resulted in having sex. We had no idea anyone had seen us and we got arrested leaving the lake for public lewdness. I spent the night in jail and received 6 months of deferred adjudication.

Since then I have gotten married, been a Sunday school teacher at our church, room parent for my kids classrooms, got my associated degree in early childhood education, and am a member of a nursing society, and two honor societies.

I have already completed my declaratory order with the board of nursing and just got a letter that my case needed to go before the review board and that I need to send $150. Do I even stand a chance at getting approved to be licensed?? Will I be able to get a hospital job with this on my record? Could something as silly as public sex ruin my career chances???
