Hi, I was just wondering if any other RPN/LPN has transitioned from ER, Trauma, Travel Nurse to LTACH Nurse? I Think I am going to like it but any experiences I'm curious? Thanks

I have never worked in ER or Trauma but I have worked on an LTAC unit for the past 11 months (as a new grad). Our unit recieves patients that are admitted for vent weaning, complex wound care, C-diff (we do FMTs for some C-diff pts),CHF/COPD exacerbations, etc. Some come from ICU and are on sedation or cardiac drips, while others are from PCU or medical floors that are in need of longer term acute level care. Comorbidities are usually CHF, COPD, DM II, A-fib, CVA, and some others that I can't think of at the moment. We usually have two RTs on the unit too. We have nurses there that have worked in CCU and ER and seem to do wonderful here :). It is a very busy unit, but I have learned so much working there.
