New grad starting LTAC job next week - advice?

I'm a career changer, leaving the computer field where I've been for almost 20 years and starting my first RN job at an LTAC on Monday.

Any advice for the newbie? I'm super excited, and a little anxious about this career move, but it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.

Thanks for the info. I got the job at a Kindred LTAC. Really excited to start my orientation in a couple weeks. I think I've read every thread in this LTAC forum :)

I have an interview with Kindred tomorrow. Any idea on what to expect for an interview since you got a job there. I know this is a year old post, but any help would be appreciated :) I am really nervous about an interview. I am a new grad and this is my first interview which is making me a little nervous.

I personally think LTACs are the PERFECT environment for new grads....as already stated, you learn TONS and after working here you can go anywhere if you chose to. I have actually just applied for a clinical liaison job within my LTAC facility and am hopeful I will get it. Good luck and enjoy the journey.

I'm behind on this, but feel free to send me a PM about working there. I'm grateful for the opportunity they gave me, and still work PRN there but found it was not my thing.
