Temple vs Jefferson? Philadelphia RN to BSN Program

Published

Hello! This is my first time posting. I currently attend Montgomery County Community College and I'm looking for the best school in the Philadelphia area to complete my BSN. The schools I'm currently looking into are Jefferson and Temple, although I don't know too much about each program. Jefferson appeals to me and seems like a good program but I know Temple is cheaper and also has a good program so I'm a little torn. Has anyone attended or is anyone currently attending either of these programs and have any input? Does anyone have any suggestions for other programs in the area? Thanks in advance!

I don't attend any of these schools but I am at Montco like you and the difference between Temple and Jefferson is that Temple is public and Jefferson is Private.

They are both great schools and you will attending school with great research facilities and hospitals. Pursue the school you feel is better for you and which program do you think suits your needs and schedule.

Jefferson is respected among medical professionals, they believe that Jefferson is best and they have real great facilities. It cost a lot more so be prepared to pay over $30,000.

Look for financial aid or scholarships to help you get by. The one thing that Jefferson has is a 1 year program where you able to get your BSN in one year. It is recommended for people who wish to graduate faster and that means no Winter breaks or Summer breaks. You graduate faster.

Temple University has a great reputation and the school is getting more acclaim in Philadelphia for their great schools.

All in all, I recommend both schools but look into the school that works for you and your schedule. At the end of the day, when you are in a hospital people don't care about what school you went to. It is about you effective and good nurse you are.
