Telenursing in public elementary schools?

Published

Hello,

Does anyone have any resources for telemedicine / telenursing for my son’s public charter school in Los Angeles? There is no school nurse and I had the idea that our school could possibly have access to a telehealth program... Anyone know of an organization or app or company that works with kids in schools?

Hello darbyspinx,

We moved your topic to the School Nursing forum where the School Nurses can help you.

Specializes in pediatrics, School LVN.

Our district uses Hazel Health. I am in N. Cal. I was not involved with the set up, but I'm sure you can google it and get a phone number. Good luck, hope this helps.

Out of curiosity, with no school nurse onsite, how do the Type 1 diabetics, seizure disorder kids, etc. manage? Who dispenses the controlled meds like Ritalin, etc.? I can't imagine not having a nurse in schools but I know not every school has a nurse.
