I didn't see a group created yet for people applying in Feb/March for the fall 2015 nursing program at TCC. Figured I would start one! I am sooo ready to apply, get accepted, and start! It cant come fast enough!

Are you completing all pre-requisites for associates and bachelors before it starts?

So i just made an account and wanted to say I got accepted to TCC too but was just wondering what they meant by "Please be aware that all students entering the nursing program will attend the Mental Health Nursing course during a summer session." do they mean this summer before we even start the program or the summer after we start the program? and congratulations to everyone who got accepted!!!!!

I think it's hybrid like they said on the email 49% online and 51% on campus. which I believe and understood as 49% of the theory classes will be online while the rest (51%) will be on campus.

I have seen the schedule for the nursing classes and on the schedule it shows Mental Health Nursing and Clinical for the summer semester following our first year. I think they just put that because a lot of nursing programs do not take summer classes at all. So maybe warning us not to plan a summer vacation next year?

Katherine gave me a copy when I met with her. It says that it is the new degree plan for Fall 2015.

Good morning, all! Congratulations to everyone who got in! I may be jumping the gun, but does anyone know when we get started on requirements such as CPR, drug screening, background checks, and health care verification?

In the email it says they will send us information regarding the schedule for CPR classes ( which they said they offer weeks before the start of the program) and for the criminal background check, first we have to reply to the acceptance letter and authorize them to send our personal information to the TxBON and then we will be able to schedule with them once they have our information. but i think they will let us know once they have sent our personal information to the BON

I'm in!!!!! It hasn't fully hit me yet....OMG! Congrats to us all. Someone should start a facebook group!!

Yes, we need to start a Facebook group so we can keep in touch and help each other out and even just to vent throughout the next two years!!!! I can start the group, but have to have someone as my friend to add to it. My name is Kenzey Patterson.
