Hi everyone,

The new year of 2017 is upon us and we have new ambitions to achieve. I am hoping that you will find this feed helpful in connecting with other hopefuls for the entering RN class at Tallahassee Community College this upcoming August. I encourage dialog and feedback and wish everyone luck in their journey.

I am returning to school for a second career. I have a Bachelor's in an unrelated field so I had to take a handful of classes to get me ready to apply. TCC has a great atmosphere and has been my favorite school throughout my entire college experience.

Currently, I work full time (going to school at night) and will be leaving this career when I start nursing school. I'm excited about the future.

I finished the last of my prerequisites this past term and already took the HESI. I recently submitted my application for the RN school as well. This upcoming term I'm taking Micro & Micro Lab and I'm still debating with myself over what I'll take this summer prior to RN school (thinking positive I'll get in).

It seems that the pool of applicants has been getting higher in quality each term since the overall scores are going up a little each of the last 3 classes I've been tracking.

I am new to this. I will be applying for the Fall 2017 semester for Nursing at TCC. I am going to take my HESI in March or April. I know they only accept like 40 something students! I am so nervous. I currently have a 3.6 GPA. I have been on the President's List twice. I am currently taking A&P 2 w/ Lab, Nutrition, and Music Appreciation as my Humanities. What about everyone else?

Have you taken the HESI yet? How did you do? I have spoken to a lot of students who intend on applying for the Fall 2017 term. I wonder how big the pool of applicants will be. May 11th will be here soon then the 8 weeks to wait for the emails begin. I am so anxious for this term to end and get the application results. I am hopeful to be accepted. It would be so wonderful if they added a summer program for the core curriculum classes as well... maybe they would do that in the future.

I also applied for TCC for Fall '17. All my eggs are in this basket right now, and I'm debating if I should take Chemistry and Pathophysiology at FSU, just in case. It would be nice to have a back up, but my scores are good and I really want to go to TCC.

I called nursing advising, and she said that lately, they've been getting 100-150 qualified applicants, and they accept 50. She said they get over 250 applicants sometimes, but most don't meet the basic requirements.

I still need to make sure I get my flu shot and I'm still looking for health insurance, since I won't have my current plan available in a couple of months.

Just a few more days until the application window is closed. I called the school last week and they advised they have had well over 300 applicants so far. This year has a huge number, I was surprised. She said that they would not all be qualified but that number would not be known until they started going through them.

From what I recall, about 6-8 weeks from the deadline.
