Taking the STNA exam as a nursing student. Please help!

Published

Before I begin, I realize that there has been a lot of threads about this subject, but I haven't found one that specifically explains what I need to know.

I'm taking the STNA exam soon without taking a class but I did take and pass fundamentals of nursing and advanced fundamentals.

My main question is- will i have to know exactly what equipment to gather, or will they generally give the equipment to me before I preform the skill? If the answer is yes, how will i know what to use? I don't mean to sound stupid... But sometimes different facilities use different things, you know?

Also, is the STNA test difficult? I have the book "exam cram- CNA" and I just plan to read through that, do practice questions, memorize the vocab (which most of I knew anyway...) and memorize the steps to each skill and practice preforming them (although I have to improvise because I don't have a skills lab to work in :/)

Any tips and help would be appreciated more than you know. I really want to pass this and I would appreciate ANYONE's perspective on the exam.

Oh, and I live in Ohio if it helps :)
