Hi all. I'm getting ready to graduate with my BSN soon. I know that I want to live and work in Jacksonville, however I feel that I have a better shot of securing a job in the Orlando area. What should I do? Do I take a job in Orlando (if offered of course) and quit as soon as I am offered a position in Jacksonville? Would that be really bad to do as a new nurse?
or...should I work some random job in Jacksonville until a nursing position is available...
TIA.

If your heart is set on Jacksonville I say apply for jobs in Jacksonville. If you have to you can work in a nursing home for six months until your picked up by a hospital. Although with a BSN I don't see you having to much of a problem getting hired

I live in Jacksonville and just graduated with an ADN in August, passed my NCLEX in September and got hired and starting working in October...so I'm sure that you won't have any issues finding a job as a new grad with a BSN here in town. Just be persistent! Best of luck to you!
do you go for a hospital position or a clinic?
I'm working in a hospital on a telemetry unit
thats so cool. congratulations

Seek work in the area where you want to live. If you can't find anything there after a certain period of time, then broaden the scope of your job search. Also keep in mind that the first job available might be the only job available, for a long time. Depends on how it is in you area. Worse in some than in others. Good luck.
thank you everyone!
