Taking A&P I and II at separate schools?

Published

Hi, everyone:

I am taking A&P I at a local community college in NJ. Everything so far goes very good. I like the school, the instructor.

For some personal reasons, I might be moving to another state at the end of this year, then I will have to take A&P II at another community college at that state.

I mean, if the other school let me take the class directly, would taking A&P I and II at different schools have any bad impact on the my future application to accelerated programs? If it is best to take at the same school, I think I might stay where I am and finish A&P II next semester.

Hrm.

I don't know specifically about the accelerated programs, but I think the problem you'd run into is making sure that the same things covered in your A&P 1 are equivalent to another states/schools A&P 1. When they check to make sure they will accept it they review the catalog information and if some aspect is missing they don't accept it.

For example - my current Texas college's second half of freshman English is "Composition and Literature" whereas when I took it in Pennsylvania it was "Composition II" .. because I hadn't had the "Literature" part they didn't accept it as English 1302.

J-9 is correct.

Some schools teach the Endrocrine system in A&P 2, but some cover it in A&P 1.

You will have to have the new school evaluate the descriptions for the class.

Good luck! :)

Thanks for the replies. I called the school I am interested in transferring to, they said it is generally OK.

I am just thinking what the impact on application to the accelerated program if I take A&P I & II at separate community colleges. I hope it is fine.
