I came across a thread with LOTS of helpful information for students just starting clinicals. I can't find it again :o .

What are some of the most important things to help one get through nursing school and does anybody have upfront honest advice on the whole clinical procedure? I start my first semester of clinicals in August!

Every little bit will be greatly appreciated!!!!

I have learned that nursing school isn't necessarily difficult in terms of concepts. What makes nursing school difficult is the ridiculous amount of material thrown at you. So my advice is to sit down EVERY day/night for a few hours and read your notes, study, and prepare for lectures. When studying for exams, understand the concepts rather than memorizing.

And lastly, enjoy yourself! Nursing school is very busy and takes a great deal of time and effort to do well. But to stay sane, enjoy yourself!
