surge at federal health centers
a surge of uninsured patients is showing up at the nation's federal health centers for basic medical care, and costs are rising much faster than the rate of federal funding to cover overhead. even a $2.2 billion government expansion program over five years cannot keep pace with demand. the centers saw an 11 percent increase in uninsured patients in 2003, according to government data. of the 12.4 million people treated in such centers in 2003, about 40 percent had no health insurance.

It's scary..health care being at the bottom of priority in our country. I haven't heard any solutions to the problem yet. Even something as simple as making your payments to health insurance company being tax deductible. I pay 2800.00 a yr. for a 1800 deductible..and 5400.00 max a yr.Many middle class families can't afford the rates. It's very sad.
