Support pumping one another up for the NCLEX-RN!

Published

Hey everyone! My only complaint about this community is the tendency to be a little negative (especially about the Nclex) so I thought it might be nice to start a support thread for people who are interested in keeping one another motivated to take the exam!

Think of it like a little gold star every day for when we stick to our study schedules. :-)

Personally, I'm taking my exam on June 25th at 2 pm in Southern California. I've set up an 8 am - 11 pm daily study plan till then with three hours of studying with 2 hour breaks in-between. I'm studying using Kaplan almost exclusively (the Qbanks, Q Trainers, and Content videos), listening to the in-person recordings of my dean lecturing the Kaplan nclex course, and LaCharity.

I'm still on the fence about Saunders, as much as I love it as a reference.

Let's conquer this thing! It's just a test! :-D

You are awesome and much more dedicated to studying than I am. I'm taking mine June 4th at the closest center, but a couple of my classmates took it before they had time to study at all (their words, not mine) and they passed with 75 questions so it's been really tough for me to start studying. I took the Hurst review course and I have been casually leafing through the book; I'm trying to make myself a study schedule and stick to it but it isn't working so far. I need a study buddy, some Adderall, or possibly both I think!

I hope your attitude rubs off on me! :)

I am taking mine on June 18th in Waco, TX. I am doing Hurst online, Hurst review book and questions, Kaplan questions, Kaplan Q trainers, LaCharity, Pdf review, NCLEX 3500 online questions. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. I was considering buying the Kaplan Q bank($350), do you think I should?

Anyways, lets keep each other motivated!!

I totally get it. It's hard to really sit down and start studying. I graduated on May 6th and have been enjoying socializing so much that, apart from my in-person Kaplan review, haven't really done that much for studying till the last few days.

If you want to ping me outside of here, we can likely help motivate one another! You can find me on skype at my username or email at ashleyrosesf(at)gmail(dot)com.

I think the best thing is to figure out what type of learner you are then cater to that. Are you more of an in-person learner? Then I'd highly recommend shelling out for the Kaplan lectures. It was *so* helpful to have someone instructed in this exam tell me how to navigate it. If you can't afford it, shoot me an email and I'll try to get most of the videos for you and share my notes. =)

If you're a visual learner, there's a bunch of good youtube videos on taking boards and how to break down the questions.

I am still working on my Hurst online videos. I have also been doing Kaplan and Hurst questions.

taking mine this Saturday (June 1!!) and using ATI almost exclusively...

So glad to see this. All the negativity about psople failing has been tripping me out! I take mine on June 25th at 2pm in Oklahoma. My goal is usually just a solid 6 hours a day but that doesn't always happen. If I don't do anything I at least try to do 25-50 questions and review those answers. Still so nervous tho
