Sumner College LPN Transferability

Published

Hello,

I am enrolled to begin the LPN Program at Sumner College starting Feb 2015. I am very excited about this however, my ultimate goal is to become an RN with BS. I have many undergrad core classes already completed so I would really only need to complete a few core courses and then the rest of the RN program. When I went through the orientation at Sumner I was informed that it was my responsibility to perform my "due diligence" to find out what institutions would accept transfer credits from Sumner. At the time I was just excited to get started on a program immediately I put that info in the back of my head. Now, again when I was formally accepted at Sumner and went through registration, it was emphasized to me that most institutions will NOT accept transfer credits from Sumner. Since it is my goal to become an RN over the next however many years it takes, I am having second thoughts about Sumner. Does anyone have any information on who might accept transfer credits from Sumner College? So far the few schools I have contacted have said no that they only take Regionally accredited transfer credits, ie ISU.

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Starting to sweat bullets since start date is getting so close! Thanks

You can still get your RN through sumners. Plus sumners has an agreement with online RN to BSN. Other route is to take all the needed prereq. work as RN or LPN than then apply to BSN program.
