Summer 2014 - part-time Rutgers (UMDNJ)

Hi Jenn2432! I also applied and am waiting to see what happens. Nervous, too. Did you apply to any other schools? Also, did you hear anything so far... like even a confirmation that they received your app? I got an email from NursingCAS saying they forwarded everything to Rutgers but nothing directly from Rutgers and that is making me super nervous. Maybe I should try to call or email them. Anyway, good luck to you!

Actually I never received an email from NursingCAS that they forwarded my application, instead I received an email from Rutgers saying that I was missing BLS. I did speak to someone and she said that they are already sending out notices and orientation is the 1st wks of May. I'm nervous bc this the only application I sent out for this yr. How about you?

I was missing BSL too but am enrolled in a course now. Hmm. That kind of makes me worry. I'm going to call them just to put my mind at ease. I also applied to SUNY Downstate and NYU but am still waiting to hear back from both. I'd also like to know how many others applied to the part-time program. I'd love to get in since I could keep working but I know it's a competitive program...

It's possible if we don't get in we could work on making our apps stronger and apply again next time around I guess?

If I don't get in Im not looking forward to take another chem class and the other per-requisite course that seems to be impossible to find.

I'm so excited that people are finally talking about this program on allnurses. I applied at the beginning of January and got my acceptance letter in the beginning of February for Summer 2014. I would love to hear from others who have applied or have gone through the program themselves. Right now I am just twiddling my thumbs waiting until May for the program to start. Baileyzt, when do classes begin? And how did you find out of your acceptance by email or by mail? They took about a month to respond I applied on March 10th I guess I won't hear till April.

I found out through the mail. My application was finalized with Nursingcas around January 10th though and my admission letter was dated for January 31st. The admission letter I got only had information about the physical forms we have to complete and instructions on sending in the tuition deposit. I called the school and they told me I would get information on classes, orientation and a book list in another letter that they were sending out after the new March 14th deadline. But the academic calendar online says classes start May 2nd, I'm not sure if they're changing this since a lot of people are just hearing back now. I just wish I could get more info about classes and book list, it feels like I'm sitting in limbo lol

Congrats to you baileyzt!!! I wish I knew someone in the nursing program there so I could put you in touch but I only know a few med students. Sorry you're having trouble getting the info you need.

Jenn- which class are you having a hard time finding?
