Who all is taking microbiology this summer? I finally got in the class. This is the 4th week and it is an 8 week course. Right now my grade is at a high B but I'm good with that. I just want to be done with it.

I won't get to Micro til next spring but saw that you are a Military Mom....My Marine Son arrives tommorrow....his last trip home before deployment.

Summer Micro is pretty intense. My class is 8 weeks long and we just finished the 4th week so halfway there. But I like to think that I am more than 50% completed. :)

I just did a presentation today on Hep B virus and was so scared! It had to be a power point so good thing I have that and have done it once before. I could barely control my voice; it kept cracking and I forgot to breathe so was loosing my breath while talking! :chuckle

Any other Micro students have to present something in class?

I was looking over my professors Syllabus (Aug. 2008 class) and read the dreaded word "oral" report on your choice of Bacteria, Virus, etc. and my heart skipped a beat and now I will have anxiety until I get that day over and done with. I feel your pain but atleast you got it done with and probably did great.!

The other students said that I did a good job. They said it seemed like I had done that hundreds of times! I was shocked. But every person who presented so far has said that they were extremely nervous and each one didn't seem nervous at all and did a good job. The worst job is to be boring but the presentations are short so no biggie :)

I don't have an oral presentation for Micro, but I had one for Physiology last semester, and it's painful only when you have yet to do it. But once you're up there and you talk and it's over, it's really not as bad as feels like it was going to be.

My Micro class is crazy in that, we're doing two or three labs at the same time! We're having an exam on lecture on Tues and then a Lab Practical exam the next day!! Wow! Feeling pretty overwhelmed....

I am in micro this summer and starting the nursing program in the fall. I think micro is easy compared to a&p2. Well good luck

Hi all!

I'm taking Microbio this summer and am just starting the 4th of 8 weeks. Think I need to start reading the chapters! Have a mid-B right now.... I'm hoping to start my BSN in Aug, so I haven't really put the effort in like I did with Physio and Anatomy during the Spring. I figured that just as long as I pass, it's "good enough" since I'm almost positive I'll be accepted for the Fall cohort. The funny thing is, is that getting a "B" on the exam really bummed me out even though I didn't study. I guess once a "type-A personality" always a type-A! So...now I've got a challenge to pull out an "A" since that's the only grade I'll feel happy about. Whether I NEED an "A" or not!

I'm a silly girl. I should know myself better than that---thinking "why stress-out over one grade when your application is based on the grades you've received already"

(Chem: A; Physio: A; Anatomy: B; plus a BS degree with GPA of 3.6)

Not bragging, just really worked my butt off and am now wanting to "chill-out" before the REAL work begins in a 14 month Accelerated BSN program. Doesn't look like I'm gonna be able to give myself a break afterall! Oh well, I'm putting on the handcuffs and opening the textbook. I'll probably gain ANOTHER 5 pounds while munching out and forcing myself to study! Anybody feel me?:banghead:
