Need help. I'll be doing my preceptorship in March 2015 and I need some suggestions in areas where LPNs can work (of course no hospitals), such as LTC, Nursing home, clinics (what kind/type), outpatient surgeries. Tell me your pros and cons (if applicable).

I am planning to bridge in the fall of next year, so I am interested in doing my preceptorship in a hospital-like settings.

Thanks

This is the first time I've heard of a preceptorship in a practical nursing program.

If you're seeking a hospital-like environment, I would complete the preceptorship at a physical rehabilitation facility or LTACH (long term acute care hospital).

Me too, but I think it is great. Just because RN student is an associates, that does not mean the PN should not experience preceptorship since they both almost do the same thing. BTW, in the state of NV, NVSBON just recently reviewed the scope of LPNs (last review was 1980's). Great news, it will expand a little bit more to the level of RN's, because of some gray-areas that needs specifications.

And, our school is the #1 NCLEX pass rate for PN's in the nation-US (just proud to say it).
