studying tips for a nervous nursing student

Published

Hi fellow nurses!

I'm a 3rd year BN student at Humber College and I wanted come on here to get some advice from other upper year BScN or RN students on studying!!

I'm pretty organized and I complete the learning objectives (which are longggggg btw ) on time for each class but recently I scored low on my first quiz (20% weight) of the semester. It's very discouraging.

I reached out to the profs for this particular class and I asked for some practice (application-type, not knowledge) questions (even if its just 5 questions) before the actual assessment to get more practice but they said this isn't a class to teach about how to take a test. This class does not lecture, there are no ppts, nothing but activities that does not match the level of difficulty that was seen on the actual quiz I did.

I just need help. how do you study??? or is it normal in BScN to memorize the whole textbook in order to do well?

I have a high GPA which I would like to keep until year 4 since it is important to not only me but also my future career as well. I would greatly appreciate tips and feedback! particularly on how to prepare for application type questions!

thank you!!
