Studying for SCRN exam

Published

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice as to how to study for the SCRN exam. I work in the Neuro ICU and want to attain this certification. The handbook says that it's best if I have 1-2 yrs experience but it isn't required. I was oriented for 5mths and have been off for 3mths. So I'm not sure if I am being to bold in trying to take this test. I'd appreciate any insight on test preparation or am I crazy for wanting to get my Stroke certification this soon. Thanks a bunch.

Try starting with the Core Curriculum for Neuroscience Nursing, 5th Ed.

Are you a member of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses?

They have local chapters that you can join. You can find others there locally, who are studying for the SCRN. May help with studying and having a study group :)
