i was wondering if studying rn questions would not be beneficial for preparing for the LVN nclex

I personally think its not a good idea, only because the responsibilities are different, you have to take the nclex in the mind of an lpn not an rn. There are many questions that are based on the role of the lpn, delegating, and skills that an lpn does, and if you study using rn based question you may confuse yourself.

I agree. Don't study RN nclex questions, because there a lot of questions that focus on your scope as an LPN. Some study guides I recommend: Saunders has an excellent NCLEX book for LPN's. NSCBN has a great online review course & it's quite affordable ($50 for 3 weeks of access). Good luck!

I would think it is not a good idea. I was recently helping a friend try to get prepared to get re-licensed as an LPN, and when I looked at her questions, they were vastly different from my RN questions- there is too big a difference in the nursing practice (rights/obligations/responsibilities) of RNs vs LPNs which could get you in trouble on the exam.

Do not study for nclex pn with rn questions. Simply because the.nclex is all about applied knowledge, what would you do etc....although the general knowlegde may be similar, there are two different scopes of practice which could trip you up on questions

I don't think it's a good idea. Role and scope of practice is different. You don't want to get yourself all mixed up. I would stick to practice questions for the LVN.
