Ok so I received my book in the mail today to study for my first excelsior exam. I have not enrolled into the college since you can take up to 2 exams without enrolling. Im nervous and I dont know what to study. I've only been a LPN since December but I dont want to wait especially since it is hard finding a job as a LPN. Im also taking classes at a local community college and I should have the general education portion done by May !!! I plan on taking the Transition exam next month (APRIL) and every exam a month after(is that too close??) Im trying to have this program completed by OCTOBER!!!! (my sister completed her's in 6 months!!!!) has anyone else done it in that amount of time????? ok so back to the Transition exam...can anyone give me any pointers??? how was the exam?? was it difficult?? easy??? im just nervous

I highly recommend two things for every exam:

1) download the EC exam content guide. This is your syllabus/study guide. Use it!

2) EC practice exams. They will very much give you the flavor of the real exam.

Good luck!! :)

I think your sister can be an invaluable source to you since she has already completed this course. You should collaborate closely with her in studying for the exams. I am also newly enrolled (Feb) and I have since passed 2 exams. I am now studying for Transition which I hope to sit for in 2 wks so yes, scheduling 1 per month is totally doable. It's up to you and how motivated you are to get this done. Good Luck, you can totally meet your goal of October!

Which do you recommend Lisa Arrends or Study Group 101? What are the pros and cons of both. My neighbor is doing Excelsior as she's moving back to Florida in 2 years and Excelsior is accepted there. She's been a LVN for 10 years.
