I am going to assume that this will be your first year of college. Have you already taken a cell biology or chemistry class? My college had a couple of pre-requisite classes before a student was even allowed into an A&P class. If you will be taking A&P straight off, you may want to buy an old text book and start on chapter 1. You could also try to find a "Dummies' Guide" or "Idiot's Guide" to A&P just to have some background info and a reference for later.
@168kudos yes this is my first year and I do have to take pre-requisites. So now let me ask you in other words are u saying that if I take a cell biology or chemistry class that will make learning of Anatomy and Physiology more easier to understand? Thanx and those two Study guides u mentioned is there a fee for them?

Getting a good grasp on biology is not only helpful but pretty much needed to understand the Physiology of the human condition.
Here is a great (free) site to help you along the way.
Thanx so much!

There are tons of free sites that will help you with physiology--no need to get a book ahead of time. You should try to focus on basic chemistry(atoms, elements, ions, pH, and some biochem like carb/protein/lipids) and basic biology(eukaryotic cell structure/function, osmosis, mitosis, meiosis).
and remember, youtube is your friend. there are some amazing animations and lectures on youtube that will cut your study time in half.

I agree, there are many free sites to help you learn everything there is that you have to learn. I exercise some of these too. I also have A&P coming up and I'm a bit stressed out about it, so I figured a head start will do me some good! I just went to Books-A-Million and almost died at the amount of beautiful Nursing-related books they had in the health section. I had to control myself on that one. But, nonetheless, A&P is the class I'm taking here in a couple of weeks and I just kept telling myself the other books could wait.
I've read a lot a/b A&P for Dummies on this site, so I went ahead and got that book, as well as the A&P for Dummies Workbook. THEN, Kaplan Medical Anatomy Flashcards caught my eye. This was a great buy, considering I live and breath studying by flashcards majority of the time. It's a really nice set and great to keep for the rest of your life. I've peaked through the cards and I'm so glad I splurged a little and picked up this extra side item. I'm hoping this money will pay off...never have I spent $60-$70 on books/materials that weren't REQUIRED of me, but I do have to admit that it feels nice to hold and know I'll be learning with a little less stress. Do what you feel you gotta do/can do for advancing yourself! Good luck! :)
