Study Books that accompany textbooks

Published

Good evening everyone,

I was just wondering if any of you have gotten study guides (study books) that accompany your textbooks but were only suggested by your professor; were they helpful for you?

A few years ago I took a pathophysiology class and bought the study book that went with the textbook, attempted to use the study book, but gave up on it because it was a difficult class and honestly didn't put effort into the class. (part thing on my part, i know) (ended up failing the class though  )

This fall I am taking a pharmacology class and my professor suggests the study guide book, has a study book for pharmacology help anyone; or would rewriting notes and making notecards suffice?

Specializes in Med/Surg, Oncology.

I have Fundamentals Success and Maternal and Newborn Success. From what I've heard, the practice tests are immensely helpful!

I have Fundamentals Success ; From what I've heard, the practice tests are immensely helpful!

Today i researched and found the fundamentals success is very very helpful. my professor for fundamentals is the same professor I had for like a intro to nursing class (for those to learn what nursing is about if you decide to go for that major) and she required us to get the Test Success book for the intro class and for the Foundations of nursing class. We didn't get into much with that study book, only the first 2 or 3 chapters about time management and other things. so I'm excited to use it to help me test better, but would the Fundamentals success book be just as helpful since it probably has more of nursing questions versus testing techniques and testing formats?
