University of Pittsburgh CRNA Program

Students SRNA

Published

I was wondering if anyone has heard from Pitt. I interviewed back in December and was told that we would either get a letter or a call about our status. I know they have more interviews set up in March for the CRNA program. Haven't really seen anything posted on the message boards either way.

My buddy interviewed in Dec and they told him they were not notifying anyone until after the march interviews. They use to let top candidates know right away, but I've heard they are short one professor so the number they can admit has dropped by a few students per class (not sure what the actual number is...say 18 instead of 24?) so they're just waiting until all interviews are done. Good luck.

Any updates for anyone? I interviewed in December, and I'm pretty sure the March interviews are done with... I'm expecting notification one way or the other soon. Anyone else heard anything?

I heard one person say they got an acceptance phone call yesterday, so that makes a grand total of 2 people I have heard of who have gotten in so far, who knows what is going on, as for me I have gotten no letter, no phone call. ***

3 classmates interviewed and so far no one has heard.

I received an email yesterday notifying me I was not accepted. :( However, pleased to have other options. Congrats to those accepted and good luck to those still waiting to hear!

I'm still waiting here.. I guess that means maybe I'm still in the running? Kind of expecting to see a rejection email every time my phone tells me I have a new message in my inbox. So I guess phone call is good, email is bad?

I called today and the secretary stated that they were still finalizing the list. I have heard a few say that they have been accepted, a few say they were rejected, and a bunch who have heard nothing, anyone else have any contact with others who have gotten in or rejected.

My buddies all got rejection emails. Good candidates too! I'm not sure what kind of applicant they are looking for??? Boggles the mind

Propofol Milkshake,

Interesting to hear about your friends. I felt I was a strong candidate as well compared to the pack and got rejected as well. Not sure what they are looking for, but I guess with their reputation they can afford to be selective. I hope your friends have other options as I do. Best of luck to them!

I thought I was a strong applicant as well, GRE 1140/4.0, BSN 3.5, 7 years experience as firefighter/paramedic at busy 911 service, skilled at intubations, acls, and IV's, 4.5 years experience as RN, MICU/SICU at level 1 trauma center, ER RN, and RN at cardiovascular ICU, certs in CCRN, Cardiac Medicine- CCRN, CEN, TNCC, ACLS, PALS, NRP, EMT-P, honestly I am not arrogant at all but if there are two classes full of people more qualified than I am then god bless that program
