Nursing Students SRNA

I heard back from U of M and was not granted an interview. What it is... I believe myself to be a strong candidate and have asked for feedback. Anyone else care to share their experience?

I was also sent the "We regret to inform you..." email. Did you get a reply yet? I was planning on calling them tomorrow before work. It is too bad that there is no explanation when you feel you went above and beyond their requirements.

Are you out of state? I was thinking maybe locals/alumni had priority?? What other schools have you applied to? I've also applied to UND, New Britain and MSA. So it's a bad start but i'm staying positive!!

the reply was equally bland; they interviewed the "30 strongest candidates" out of the more than 100 they received. i did specifically request for constructive feedback and got no further information. c'est la vie.

i applied to rush & mayo; interviewed at rush and think that went reasonably well. will find out later about mayo!

Sorry to hear that you did not get an interview. I was interviewed and placed on the waiting list last year. I am awaiting to hear how things have gone this year. They have a great program at UM. What type of GPA and experience do you have. The program is very competetive and they only take 10.

heay thanks for your reply and good job on the interview! i'm sorta over it at this point and hope that things will pan out at the other schools. i have interviewed @ rush and they will render decisions in december, at which point the other schools will have said about interviews (mayo, texas wesleyan and northwestern). c'est la vie. oddly enough, i think that UM was my top choice based on clinicals, cost, length of program, diversity of education and opprotunities for leadership classes.

my gpa was 3.17 overall, 3.65 nursing; 8 years experience medical ICU and of those 4 as a charge nurse; i'm an acls instructor, teach iabp, ccrn, pals, and have two community teaching roles with BSN students, sit on committees, and am relatively active in my community as a volunteer....i sometimes wonder if the 'extra stuff' tends to count against me because they are not directly clinical but who knows. like i said, they offered no info on how my application could be stronger.

i often believe in life that things happen for a reason, and given that, i am OK with not having it as an option but will be curious as to why i did not meet their critiera.

Hey I had an interview at Rush too and I'm still waiting to here either way. I was wondering if you have heard from them or if you know of anyone else who has gotten either an acceptance or rejection. Just keep checking the mailbox daily, I have a friend who already recieved her acceptance letter....any info would be great. Good Luck!
