I know, right? I specifically asked the director of the program, Dr. Jones, "how often will we need to be on campus during the first nine months (the first year)?" Her response was, "one week at the beginning of each quarter." I believe Loma Linda university has established distance learning programs in other specialties and they all function in a similar manner. Also since this is a DNP program now, it looks like a lot of the didactic courses are loaded in that first year.

For the people still waiting...they are giving applicant who were accepted 2 weeks to confirm admission. Maybe some people accepted will get into other programs. Is anyone else far away? I live about 90 miles away. I'm wondering if Its too bold to think I can just commute when we don't have to be on campus much and rent a room during the more demanding semesters and just go home on the weekends. When I asked the current students one was commuting that far and said it was doable for the class portion....maybe not clinical though. I own my home and don't really want to rent it out. Anyone in the same position/have insight?

I'm in a similar position. I live about two hours from the school and own my home. I am determining right now if it would be better to sell it or rent it next year. Commuting is not a viable option from what I understand. I have a family though and we want to go through this as a family. I have heard of people dropping out when they are commuting or separated from their family and I just don't want to risk it. If you have been in your house for a few years maybe you can sell it and live on the equity?

I only bought my house 5 months ago and selling isn't an option. Maybe we will have no choice but to rent it out but I'm going to take advantage of all the online classes I can get. It sounds like they are really trying to make it easy for the people who are far. I'll have to talk to them and get a better plan either way my spouse is on board to make it work bless his heart Please post if you guys hear anything about the online classes and clinical. Congrats to everyone! Can't wait to meet everyone in the fall!

Hello guys, I just wanted to let you all know that I have created a Facebook page for those entering the program this upcoming fall (Fall 2018). The group is a closed group in which we can all use to update each other on upcoming events, useful resources, or just post general Q&A throughout the process. The group is titled LLU CRNA DNP Class of 2022. For those of you who have not YET been offered acceptance don't lose faith as some of the spots for last years cohort did not get filled until late March. So there is still hope. Cant wait to meet you all!

Hi all! I'm new to allnurses and found this group. I'll be joining you in the Fall as well!! Super excited/nervous...my family is in a similar predicament in trying to decide when to move close to campus - we have an ocean between us. Thanks for starting a Facebook page for us :-) Gonna look for it.

Hi everyone! I will also be joining you guys this fall. Super excited. It sounds as if I am in the same boat as a lot of you. I will be commuting home on the weekends from San Diego, my wife and I just bought a house down here. I have a friend that graduated from LLU and did the same thing and said it is definitely manageable.

Hey SD! I'm going to be commuting from north park! Where are you located? This makes me so happy to know that I'm not alone and someone says it's doable. I think I may have met you at the interview

still !! no email/phone call just yet ! why does it take forever for them to send out an email. KP/USC sends out the invite/reject letters within 2-10 days. :/

you might want to give them a call or email. I never received an email from USC about my interview or waitlist. i had to call them and for some reason the emails for both were sent but never received on my part. USC also sent out their emails 14 days after my interview. Maybe your email is out there lost.

I called but no one answered. :/ anyone got a call recently ?

I would guess that they have made offers but they don't have a final acceptance list. So not having gotten a call at this point doesn't necessarily mean that you are not accepted. You may be on a back up list or something.
