ICU experience for CRNA

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hello All,

I have 5yrs of experience in med surg and currently im working in Trauma Surgical ICU in a level 1 trauma hospital. My GPA is 3.8. If I score pretty good in GRE. How many years of ICU experience should I have to be a stronger candidate? Most of the places ask for 1 yr but do they typically give admission if you only have a year experience. Any response is appreciated.

Thanks

Most schools require that you have 1 year experience prior to application, or prior to interview. Each school should spell it out pretty clearly for you. In my program nobody got in with less than 2 years experience, though the minimum was 1 year. Average seems to be about 2-3 years.
