Feedback about Thomas Jefferson University Nurse Anesthesia Program

Hello everyone,

I am ecstatic to say that I have been offered a spot in Thomas Jefferson University's nurse anesthesia program! I value my education and have tried to do as much research I can about this program before officially deciding. I have also tried searching this site and have not found exactly what I'm looking for. I was hoping I could get some feedback from people who have any firsthand experience with this school's program. Did you like the program? Did you feel it prepared you well? Would you make the same decision again?

Congrats! I live in Philly and am considering Jeff. I'm curious, what do you think got you into their program? Any one thing specifically that you're proud of?

At the time of the interview I had 15 months of experience as an RN, all in a Medical-Surgical ICU. I have my BLS, ACLS, PALS, FCCS, and CCRN certifications. My GPA is 3.85. I was also a 4 year student-athlete which I think they liked. During my interview the thing they seemed to value the most was my math and science GPA.

I'm still searching for some feedback about the program so if anyone has any please feel free to share!

15 months as a brand new RN?! WOW. That's no time at all! :D And thanks for mentioning your stats. I didn't know about the FCCS. I'm looking into it to boost my apps.

I really debated about posting this because #1 its not a first hand account and #2 it's probably not what you want to hear, but a CRNA I shadowed a couple months ago went to Jeff, graduated I think in 2016 (she had been working for only a couple months when I shadowed her)....when I asked her how she liked it she said "I wouldn't recommend that program to anybody." I didn't press her too hard about it because I'm not going there, but I think she said it was a very self-taught program and there wasn't much guidance. However, she was still a seemingly very confident and competent CRNA.

Thanks for the info. Being self-taught isn't fun. Please do share more even in the future even though it may not be what people want to hear.
