Nursing Students SRNA

I am a bsn student who plans to move to the Atlanta area upon graduation in 2009. I was wondering if anyone had advice on which ICU's are the best to work at in Atlanta; I would like to get as much experience as possible in preparation to applying to CRNA school. If you don't know about the Atlanta area, do you know what qualities I should look for when applying to ICUs with CRNA school in mind? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Grady Hospital for great Trauma/Surgical ICUs and Emory for the rest.

Emory University Hospital Cardiovascular ICU

Emory-Crawford Long Hospital Cardiovascular ICU

St. Joseph's Hospital - Atlanta, Cardiovascular ICU

Piedmont Hospital Atlanta - Cardiovascular ICU

Emory University Hospital CCU

Emory University Hospital Neuro ICU

These are all units where many new grads are getting great experience and moving on to CRNA school relatively quickly.

Piedmont has a great critical care residency program. Six-months with rotations through 4 different units. Very competitive though. Many are removed from the program if you can't hack it.

I work in the CVICU at Piedmont and love it! We are also starting our heart transplant program in 2009 so it will be a great place for experience. St. Joes and Emory are great places for this particular area as well.
