Admitted a semester before I planned?

Long story short, I have applied for anesthesia school. A rep from the school contacted me and asked if I'd be interested in maybe starting this fall. I originally planned to start in the spring semester of next year, starting in February. Starting in the fall would mean starting in August...as in one month from now.

It would require a great amount of juggling but I could do it. Do you all think I should go for it in the fall or wait until Jan? I won't be able to give my unit much notice, which upsets me because I don't want to put them in a tight situation. But I need to think of my future.

Very curious to see what you all think I should do. I could live at home with the fam until I find a suitable place, so I could realistically manage starting in the fall.

I guess it depends on if you mentally feel ready, physically feel ready and have enough money to support yourself. :)

ANd if you were to tell your unit today, that gives them 1 month .THat is plenty of notice. Remember, there are a ton of new grads and other RNs that want your job :) I'm sure the unit will have no trouble finding someone who wants some work!

I would go for it as long as your certain this is the school/program you want to attend. Think of it this way- the closer you start, the sooner you'll be done. Good luck!!!

Quite possibly, I dunno if maybe someone had to back out at the last minute or what. Still waiting for my interview though, so it's not set in stone. I realized that fall semester starts a few months later for this school, so if I'm offered fall admission I'm taking it.

I hope so, because I seriously don't want to put them in a bad position. I'm very grateful for the learning opportunities and experiences. They hired me straight out of nursing school, so I feel very much obliged to do right by them.
