I decided to stay at the Courtyard too due to the discount through school. Plus, will be nice to stay around other students going to orientation as well.

I was thinking the same that it would be nice if others were there too. I am hoping we get some more information soon as to what we are going to be doing those days. The closer it gets the more nervous I get, wondering what type of clothes we need, other supplies, etc...I know she said in an email to bring a stethoscope and laptop but I wonder if we need all of our books too. Guess we will fond out soon, I did get my financial aid information today so at least we are making progress.

I am arriving on Sunday, if anyone is interested in meeting for dinner that night send me a message with your email. It would be great if we could get a group together and start getting to know each other.

I am currently in the FNP program at samford university. I have completed the Advance patho course and I am currently taking advanced pharm and health promotions. I will be attending the orientation for Advanced Health Assessment in August as well. I am looking forward to meeting you all.

Hi everyone! Orientation is sneaking up on us! Have you guys ordered your books yet? Also what do you plan on wearing to orientation, casual or dress casual? Just wondering what I should pack.

Just thought I would let everyone know that I emailed someone at Samford today to check on dress code and was told it is business casual. She also told me that there is no need to bring our text books with us...which makes me happy to not have to lug them around! I am headed over to the bookstore website to buy my books now, see you all soon!

im glad we found out the dress code. So i guess just stethoscope and ourselves.

Pack RN I have really enjoyed the program so far. The instructors are very nice, and the courses have been challenging but it can be done.

It is great to hear from someone that is already in the program. Thanks for the encouraging words! See you in a little over a week I guess!

Would anyone mind sharing their stats? I will be finishing an accelerated BSN next August and plan to apply for admission in Fall 2014 (so immediately after completing BSN). I won't have any experience other than working as a tech through nursing school, but plan to work as an RN during the program. The website says they accept new grads. I have a 3.6 now and hope to have a similar admission GPA. Any advice on applying or in general would be greatly appreciated!
