How to prepare for clinicals as an FNP student?

  1. I will be starting clinicals as an FNP student in Spring 2016. I feel so unprepared for this and want to not look like a complete idiot. Any advice or how to prepare for this? Thanks

Figure out the type of setting your clinical will be in, look up the most common reasons for a visit, review guidelines, familiarize yourself with meds. Know how to take an appropriate history and do a good physical exam. Otherwise we expect first semester students to be green

I paid close to a 1000 dollars and I will be attending an advance practice skills clinic in March to learn some advance practice basics including a suturing clinic.

    Your school doesn't teach suturing?

Paying more to learn advanced practice basics? Wow, your school must be awful if you have to pay extra to attend something. If it was advanced practice basics should that not be included in the curriculum.

And people say nurse practitioner school prepares us well.

Where is the clinic? I'm starting an FNP program online in March and would be really interested in a hands on clinic. Thanks!
