I have been accepted into 2 FNP programs.. There is around a 12 thousand dollar difference between Ohio University and Univ of Cinci w/ Univ of Cinci being more expensive.. I completed my BSN thru the RN-BSN distance learning program at OU and thought it was ok.. just wondering if Univ of Cinci would be worth the extra $??? I would love to hear feedback from anyone who has done a NP distance learning program through either school! I also applied at Mount Carmel and have not yet heard back, so feedback on their NP programs would also be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I've never heard of UC being that much better than OU so I don't see why you'd spend the extra honestly.

I have heard good things about University of Cinci, and actually have crossed paths with a few of their students who were very happy with the program and were doing great at their clinical sites. Have not heard much about OU though.

Bufflindsay,

I was in the pioneer online MSN/FNP at OU back in 2012...spent 9 months and a lot of money but had to withdraw becos of lack of authorization in my state for the clinical portion of the program. I'm assuming you are in ohio so that should not be a problem for you. The problem OU has is lack of direction and coordination for the online students. They are using the on campus professors to facilitate the on line courses and we ended up being treated as second class. The teachers were missing in action becos they had too much worklaod joggling on campus students and us. We had assignments that were not graded for over a month after the semester ended. It was a mess and out of thirty something students that were admitted in my class, more than half left the program. You will be teaching yourself without any support from faculty if you choose to go to OU. I have moved on and now doing my FNP at a school with an awesome MSN/FNP program and the faculty is soooooo supportive...sometimes you have to spend a little extra money to get good service which is what l did ...Goodluck on your decision...

I personally did not like the whole application process with UC when I applied, they were very short on support when you had questions. I don't know anyone in the program though. Just wanted to say congrats for getting accepted, that's an amazing thing right there anyway! =)
