2017 application cycle

Nursing Students NP Students

Published

Hello all,

i just thought i would would start a thread for those awaiting acceptance from programs for fall 2017. I have already been accepted to Simmons (MSN) . I also applied to ECU (DNP), UNC (MSN) , and Duke (MSN). I applied for Family Nurse Practitioner at each.

Where did you apply? what is your top choice?

Specializes in Hospitalist Medicine.

I've applied to University of South Alabama's dual FNP/ACNP BSN-to-DNP program and University of Michigan's ACNP BSN-to-DNP program (Fall 2017 start). I did my BSN with Chamberlain, so I can automatically transfer into their FNP program, but I really need dual FNP/ACNP so I can work in our facility's ER. My first choice is USA because of the dual cert. Plus, they already have my hospital on their approved clinical site list. I already know our facility takes UM NP students. Just trying to ensure I have the best chance of getting clinicals locally and with preceptors I already know. Hardest part will be finding a preceptor for OB/GYN.

Good luck and I hope you get the school you want! :D

Specializes in ICU, Military.

I was accepted to Eastern Kentucky University's Rural Health Family Nurse Practitioner program for Fall 2017. It was my first choice and the only one I applied to. I'd love to hear from others accepted into EKU's program!

I plan on submitting my application to UAB and USA right after the New Year for Fall 2017. I don't really have a first choice since those are the only two I'm applying to. I'll be happy with either one.

Specializes in SICU.

Great thread.

Applied to KSU for AGACNP. I like putting all my eggs in one basket :)

I applied to Simmons and was accepted for jan 2017 *bio bridge*

What is a bio bridge?

I hope you get it!! @ohioSICUrn

I've submitted my application to the UNC Chapel Hill ADN-MSN FNP program. Honestly, waiting until April or May for a decision is a little ridiculous. I didn't really want to apply elsewhere, but I guess with about a 50% acceptance rate, I should, even though my portfolio is pretty strong. Over the phone, the SON said, approximately 450 students apply and approximately half have complete applications and met requirements. I plan to call and ask how many spots are available for fall in this program specialty. Does anyone happen to know this information?

Simmons sounds like a great school, and I would totally go there, but they are super pricey!

@ncnurse17 I also applied to UNC and they have one of the latest acceptance notifications I ha e heard. I do not know the stats on acceptance. I applied for the FNP program but I'm not sure if it's different from your program since I already have my bsn

I just found out yesterday that I was accepted to UVA PMHNP!! So excited to start in August.
