Hello Guys-
I know there is several programs for PAs, NPs who work at underserved medical clinics where they pay their student loans back.
Is there such a program, or any other programs that will pay loans if you work as a nurse at a certain location or for certain years? Now, do these programs require a BSN, or can it be a B.S. in another science field and an ASN?
I know I threw a lot of questions at you guys, but hope to hear from you soon.
Eddie
P.S. I am in California

The deadline on this one has already passed for the year, but perhaps you may find it useful for next year. http://www.hrsa.gov/loanscholarships/repayment/nursing/ It only applies to loans related to your nursing education. I'm not sure if it matters if it's a BSN or ASN. Also, you must work in a very specific facility (non-profit, etc.) Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

the army and other branches I'd imagine! I know the army pays huge signing bonuses and repayment plans.

You may want to investigate Perkins loans (if you can get them) 100% forgivable loan for 5 years of service

the HRSA loan mochamonster spoke of is a great one! They have scholarships for those with a zero EFC (expected family contribution), if you get it, which pays a monthly stipend and all other school related fees (tuition, lab fees, ect), I loved having it, and was very grateful. Now I just need to get a job! It will happen soon, I know it.
They also have programs where you can work in underseved hospital, rural areas, indian reservations, etc and get part of your loan paid off that way. When I looked into it, it was something like $10,000 a year taken off for your working there. Check into it at HRSA website
