Two years after nurses at Northern Michigan Hospital went on strike, issues that divided the sides remain.

The visible presence of picketers has dwindled. Striking nurses are traveling to new jobs -- leaving their families and homes -- and some have gone back to their former jobs. But the strike has left the community divided.

I have worked with several nurses from Northern Michigan Hospital. They are now travel nurses who have been at our hospital. They are excellent nurses. It is truly Northern Michigan Hospital's loss.
