Hello all,

I'm considering taking a few classes through Straighter Line. If anyone has done this before, what classes would you recommend NOT taking through them. I am finding mixed reviews online and can't really get an exact outlook.

I am considering taking:

-Microbiology and the Lab (My community college doesn't offer the class online and the in person classes at inconvenient times for me)

-Sociology

-Pharmacology

Looking forward to the feed back, thank you.

I have no experience with them, but know people who have. The experience wasn't positive. Classes were not accepted anywhere else

That's what I'm worried about- the experience being not so stellar. I'm willing to wait and see what times the Microbiology class and lab is offered for the fall or even over the summer. I work 40 hrs a week during the day so morning classes are a no go for me.

Try your local community college. They generally offer prereqs at different times through the day for working students.  Good luck!

I took a sociology class with them. I didn’t have a bad experience but I knew going in that I would not be able to transfer this class anywhere else.. however it’s a easy class to retake if I ever needed to.
i do not recommend taking a class like microbiology because it’s not as easy to retake if you needed to transfer it to another school.

i took microbiology on a online platform called EDUKAN. They are accredited and your class is actually taken online though one of their partner colleges. The credits will transfer anywhere and the lab is online to. I had a good experience with them however the class was expensive but when I compared it to the amount of money I would spend at my community college it was $200-300 more... it was worth it

I think I'm just going to suck it up and take both classes at the community college I currently attend. I'll just have to use PTO for the time and day I have class for Micro which is what I was trying to avoid. Sociology I can take online.

Thank you for your input and advice.
