Greetings,
I am starting an accelerated program in January, and am trying to determine what kind of stethoscope to buy. I'll have hearing aids (probably ITC, CIC, or ITE) by the time I start school, and was wondering what type of stethoscope is best. Last time I had my hearing tested (2011), my loss was around 40db. I think I have moderate loss. I just have no idea what to do, quite honestly.
Thanks.
BJ
P.S.-Anyone been to Costco hearing centers, and if so, what are your impressions?

I have an electronic steth made by andromed that is amazing!
I know there are steths with T-loops and accomadations for hearing aides. You can research online and I have used steths by phillips and andromed and find them both excellent. Much depends on what you can afford. Don't go with the amplified ones as they will amplify everything around you as well. I tried that type at first, didn't really work that great in a noisy situation. I am not being much help, LOL, but I do there are good steths out there and you will benefit from them.
WOrd to the wise.... do not let anyone "borrow" your e scope!!! The drs will want to as you can hear so good with them, but Docs are notorious steth thiefs and if they will steal a cheapie, they will steal an expensive super cool steth!! So will fellow nurses, nursing students, etc!!!!!

Here's a website I received on AN from someone else with hearing loss. There's a lot of great information to help you choose the right stethoscope

I had a Littman 3000 in Nursing school from 2008 to 2010. It was ok. I now have a Thinklabs ds32a+ Stethoscope. I really love it. I wear bilateral CICs at the moment. I take one of my aids out (usually the left one) and just listen thru one ear earbud. I am in love with my Thinklab scope. Hopefully I'll upgrade to Bluetooth aids soon and I'll be able to use a Oticon streamer to transmit the sound directly to my hearing aids.
Thanks so much for the responses thus far, guys. I so very much appreciate it.

Oticon streamer??? Hmmm, sounds interesting....last time I was at the audiologists she was showing me a loop that sits around your neck and can play music from my phone directly into my hearing aids, sounds like what you are talking about but I don't think she called it a streamer...What do you have to buy with it? A Bluetooth stethoscope? (Sorry, a little confused...)
