if a surgeon leaves a surgery and walks out into the OR hallway with their surgical gown on are they still sterile? I do not believe they are but cannot find info on aorn

No. They should go through the sterile core but that isn’t exactly ideal either.

No, once they step away from the sterile field and back into a potentially contaminated area, they are no longer sterile/ sterility can no longer be assured. They need to scrub again and gown and glove again.
