States Hiring New Grads

Published

Been out of school for almost a year. Been lucky to get a job at a private practice as an RN. But doesn't seem to count for anything. Every job posting I see requires 1 or more years ACUTE care. I'm seriously thinking of moving anywhere just to get some experience. Will have to separate from my partner and do the long distance thing but I don't see any other way around it. Any tips, help, suggestions. Please!

UTAH, if you can handle it ;)

I second North Dakota. I applied online for RN positions with Sanford Health and received a call for an interview a week later. Many people here, and others I know personally, had similar experiences. They most often hire new grads for Med/Surg, Med oncology and step down units. The general census seems to be that the hospitals / units provide good experiences but the area is no fun to live in (cold for 6 months of the year, very little to do for fun, little night life, ect).

Michigan! My group have all been getting offers before graduation even. GOOD LUCK!
