I was terminated from my position as clinical supervisor because I failed to initiate CPR on a patient who was discovered without respirations, palpable pulses, etc. The physician said the patient had been expired for about 40 minutes or longer and there was no way the patient could have been revived.

I just did not think to call a code. My manager said the State Board of Nursing would be notified. I am waiting to hear from them.

Has anyone ever experienced something similar?

Needless to say, I am overwhlemed fearing that my license is in jeopardy.

Your prayers are appreciated.
