I'm considering becoming a PDN in Northeast Wisconsin, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to become vent certified first or simply jump in and paddle like mad.

I've looked at the Wisconsin PHP Index website and it seems as though it would be helpful AFTER I've become a PDN...I wonder if anyone has any advice to make the transition.

Any advice you can give to an RN hoping to become a PDN would be tremendously appreciated.

I would recommend getting the vent certification. It seems there is a need in these areas to be competent and increases your opportunities. Last I looked they are not expensive and offered through some of the technical colleges. I think you need an enumerator code to bill Medicaid and Medicare.
