starting pay in tampa...

Published

Hi nurses!! I am just wondering if anyone knows what the starting pay rate is for new grads in Tampa...I'm thinking of moving down there with my sister and none of the websites say what they pay...thanks for your help! !

Well, I stay 20 minutes from Tampa, ( Hudson,Fl) and I'll be making 10.50 at a rehab facility for night shift, no experience

Is this for a RN or LPN position? If that's what they are staring nurses off then things do not look good over there.

Lucky :) I heard a rumor that RN's make around $22/hour. I heard the Tampa area does not compensate extra for having a BSN compared to an Associates. Also, I heard the market was rough for new grads (not sure if you are a new grad). A lot of the hospitals were hiring for 13 week contracts for the snowbirds. I would apply asap if the positions are open and get your foot in the door. Health South was hiring a few months ago. Look in the surrounding areas (Pinellas Park, Largo, etc).

Yeah I'm looking for an RN job. I loomed at some of the Tampa hospitals and there were lots of jobs posted for RNs and I'm hoping to get in somewhere down there. I have lpn experience but I'm a new grad RN

I am sure you will find a job :) I just saw this posted. Up here rehab and some hospitals take your LPN experience and divide it in half to figure out RN experience (ex: 10 years LPN = 5 years RN). Good luck!

No, its for CNAs, but I have a friend who's an RN and she said she makes 15 to 20 an hour, counting the differential for weekends.

Ok, I found the section for Florida here on the forums, so hopefully, both of us will know more as I do live here now. https://allnurses.com/florida-nurses/
