To make my story short I decided to change my career pass in 2010. Since my first degree has nothing to do with nursing I had to start all over again from scratch. Did all my pre-req for RN in the community college but waiting list kills me, and I almost gave up. Also tried to pass NLN twice already and didn't. So I decided to look into private colleges. Yes I know they are more expensive but if you don't have any other choice I decided to try. After looking around and picking two places I decided either Northwestern or Ambria. Pricewise they are almost the same, but since Ambria has a bridge from LPN to RN I decided to stay with them. And to my surprise I passed their entrance exam after first attempt (they have TEAS).
Now I just have to finish all the requirements for clinical and hopefully will start program on May 20th.
Is there anyone taking classes at Ambria? What do you think about this school? And just in general what would you guys suggest and wish for the new LPN student, maybe some kind of study tips? Thanks.

Hello,
Not sure where your located but I was reading your post and I just went back to school for LPN in November 2012. So far, I'm doing excellent in lecture and we just began clinical today, so I'm hoping it goes well! My advice as a new student is: pay attention, wrote down all notes, if something is not clicking ASK QUESTIONS, and read the entire chapters from your text book( it always helps me on my test!!! Good Luck!!!!
Thanks, i am in Chicago, IL. Yes, i heard a lot from nursing students that reading whole chapter is very useful. Sometimes even before lectures.
